Ref 1.Dear Gloria -- Do you feel that diet plays a significant role in skin care, and are there particular foods/vitamins, etc., you do or don't recommend?
Diet plays a significant role in every aspect of our health. I have worked at
skin-care for twenty years and the skin is affected by what we eat or don't
eat, as well as our emotions, and of course, by proper skin care. The body
recognizes and uses the nutrients supplied by whole fresh food.
Over-processed foods have proved to have a negative affect on my clients'
skin. In my book, " How to Stop the Skin from Aging - Secrets the Skin
Reveals," I explain how to chart these manifestations on the skin in order
to discover the root cause of a problem and learn what the body needs. A few
clients have taken these results to their Doctors for further medical
treatment. I have a balanced Multiple Vitamin-Mineral supplement, which
includes homeopathic tissue salts in case there are nutrients missing due to
improper diet or stress.
First, avoid squeezing pimples. I have an Antiseptic Gel that helps stop pimples from appearing, and a Treatment Pak to control blackheads and blemishes. If scarring is not too deep the Enzyme Peel aids in sloughing away old skin and allowing new cells to appear. If scars are really deep you might have to check with a surgeon for advice.

Dear C. Snyder, First we need to determine what is the cause of a bad complexion. It is not always caused by oily skin, but also due to what we eat and our emotional 'ups and downs'. Fresh foods, not processed, the proper skin care for your skin-type are very important. Please E-Mail more information as to where you are having a problem on your face and what it looks like.
When asking a question please be as specific as possible.

Response: It's important not to use oil around the eye before you apply the eyeliner. After you apply the liner, go over the penciled line with a matching shade of eye shadow.
Gloria
Response: I throw my bad pictures away!
1. If the brows are low, tweeze from the underside as much as possible to increase the eyelid area.
2. Highlight the entire eyelid with a light beige or tone that is lighter than your skin tone.
3. If the brow bone is prominent and shades the eye, use a shadow a shade darker than your skin tone; this pushes the bone back and allows the eye to appear more open and less deep-set.
4. Use a thin line on the lower lid, mid way of the eye increasing the thickness as it comes to the outer corner of the eye.
5. Make sure that the brows are darkened. Practice, practice!
Gloria
Response: Tip: Don't use eye shadows of blue and purple tones. The next project is to find the cause of the dark circles. Are you getting enough sleep? Good sleep is our first beauty treatment. Are you eating junk food and drinking soft drinks?
Gloria
Response: Refer to Ref 18 and keep a list of foods you have eaten the day before there are dark circles. Let me hear the results of your research.
Gloria
Response: Go to the skin care products page. The Clay Based Treatment Pak helps control blackheads and is used once a week. The Antiseptic Gel is excellent to sedate oiliness and control acne-forming bacteria; it is applied day or night. Exercising the face can help flush away toxics ... try the Face Exerciser.
Gloria
Response: Red hair. Ziggy, the wig maker, to the Hollywood Stars, said that hair sells by the pound and must be cut all the same length. The longer the better.
Gloria
Response: Wrinkles at 16? A picture is worth a thousand words. Good health and eating properly is the foundation of good skin. Have you been in the sun from an early age? Over exposure to the sun is one of the most aging things we can do to our skin and so are drugs. There are 3 products I would suggest:
Gloria
Response: Dark circles can have different causes. Fatigue or stress which produces more melanin, (pigment in the skin). You could be anemic, check with your doctor. To cover the dark color use a consealer that is lighter than your skin tone. Then pat on your make-up base. Practice makes perfect, so don't give up on the first application.
Gloria
Response: Theatrical Makeup. Give my salon a call when you are in town and I will have information for you. 310-473-8778
Gloria
Response: Exercise for the face is my passion. I started exercising my face at 15. I have a video with 18 different exercisers. They take about 20 minutes to complete. I also have a device called The Face Exerciser that is used to exercise the facial muscles and to stimulate the acupressure point on the face. There are 6 exercises completed in 6 minutes a day. A 74 year old light skinned woman, lifted and firmed the skin under her eye brow enough to avoid eye lift surgery.
Gloria
Response: Small eyes look larger when the entire eye is highlighted with a shadow lighter than your skin tone. Tweeqe the brows from the underside and arch as high as possible. Line the lower eyelids from the middle of the eye to the outer corner. Don't line the upper eye lid, as that gives a smaller, closed effect. Apply color shadow at the outer corner on the upper lid.
Gloria
Response: There is a great book, STAGE MAKEUP, by Herman Buchman, published by Watson-Guptill, 1971. Check your library.
Gloria
Response: Good health contributes to shiny hair and you have to try different shampoos until you find the right one for your hair.
Gloria
Response: What skin type do you have? All skins need to be protected summer and winter. The moisturizer I would suggest should be a water base and have sun screen when in any bright sun light.
Gloria
Response: Blondes usually look good in Pastels, rose, or pink tones. Dark shades overpower the skin and hair color; you become lips period.
Gloria
Response: At age 12 you have the best accent of all, youth. Be natural as much of the time as you can. If you are going to a party, you could apply a light line of a natural colored pencil, tan or a very light brown, to your lower eye lid from the center of the eye to the outer corner. You don't want anyone to see that you are wearing makeup. Just that you have great eyes. Keep the rest of the colors on your face soft so that your eyes are the feature.
Gloria
Response: Pimples are caused by oil clogging the pores. The Skin Cleanser for oily skin and the Antiseptic Gel for blemish control will help. Natures Enzyme Peel mask helps stimulate new tissue replacement, refining and smoothing the skin.
Gloria
Response: Thin nails indicate that your diet is missing a needed nutrient or your body is not assimilating the nutrients that build strong nails. Nails are composed of protein. A protein deficiency can cause brittle, thin nails. Make sure you are getting a good supply of vitamin A, calcium and zinc in your diet.
Gloria
Response: Refer back to question #28 for dark circles.
Gloria
Response: I live treating dry skin...First stop using heavy oil based creams, if you do. The Mineral Mist contains needed minerals for hydrating the skin, spray it on before you apply the Day Lotion and the Hydro-Night Gel at night. Give your skin a week to hydrate and feel moist. You'll see the difference.
Gloria
Response: I wish there was a cream to vanish dark spots...Always use a sun screen before going in the sun light. Hats are beautiful, wear one when you go out.
Gloria
Response: I am not a user of Retin-A. There are medical articles on the pros and cons of the side effect. The skin thins and becomes sun sensitive.
Gloria
Response: There are some natural looking bronzer's on the market. You will need to experiment to see which one looks the most natural on you.
Gloria
Response: Yes. Please visit Gloria Martel's Beauty Technology Inc. -- Thank you. Boardmaster.
Response: If you are saying that your dark skin is blotchy, the Natures Enzyme Peel treatment minimizes uneven discoloration. Especially effective when used once a week.
Gloria
Response: Your question is intriguing. You did not describe your face. I don't know why girls would accept a date with someone who's face they did not like. Maybe you should ask a mature girl out....Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
Gloria
Response: Ref 54. Expanded capillaries can be zapped with the laser. What is your age? Don't use hot or cold water to rinse your face, lukewarm water is best. Blackheads, are plugs of oil stuck in the pore, which enlarges the pore. Use the Skin Cleanser for normal skin. The Antiseptic Gel helps control excessive oil.
Gloria
Response: Pimples come in many different forms. What type of pimples do you have? Use the Skin Cleanser for oily skin twice a day using the Toning Balancer for oily skin afterward then spray your skin with the Minerial Mist, it is very healing, The Antiseptic Gel kills acne-forming bacteria and helps sedate oiliness. Don't over heat or scrub your skin; this will only stimulate the oil production.
